About the Role

We are looking for an SEO Strategist to help drive organic search growth across a portfolio of established transportation and logistics websites.

Our company operates in highly competitive markets, including heavy hauling, equipment transport, oversize load transport, freight, auto transport, container transport, and related services. We have established websites, a large content footprint, and an experienced SEO team. What we need is someone with drive, curiosity, and a bias for action who wants to grow into a strong strategist.

You do not need to arrive with a decade of SEO experience. We care more about how you think, how fast you learn, and how much ownership you take. You will work directly alongside our SEO leadership, get hands-on exposure to every part of the channel, and be trusted with real work from your first week.

The right person is resourceful, comfortable using AI tools to research, analyze, and produce work faster, and motivated by results they can point to.

This role reports to the Senior SEO Lead and works closely with writers, designers, developers, data, and PPC teams.

What You Will Do

You will support organic growth across multiple company websites. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing SEO strategy across a portfolio of established websites, from research through launch.
  • Conducting keyword research and mapping keywords to pages based on search intent and lead potential.
  • Investigating ranking drops, traffic changes, and competitor gains, and bringing findings and recommendations to the team.
  • Writing content briefs for service pages, location pages, equipment pages, route pages, cost guides, and other high-value page types.
  • Refreshing and improving existing content: updating, consolidating, re-linking, and aligning pages to what searchers actually want.
  • Running site crawls and helping identify technical issues, indexation problems, broken links, and internal linking gaps.
  • Supporting programmatic SEO and location-page initiatives with research, QA, and quality checks.
  • Using AI tools to speed up research, analysis, briefs, outlines, QA, and reporting, while checking the output for accuracy and quality.
  • Generating AI-assisted content for the page series you own, then editing, fact-checking, and optimizing it so every page is accurate, useful, and ready to publish.
  • Building and maintaining SEO reports and dashboards that show wins, losses, and what changed.
  • Monitoring competitors and flagging where we are gaining or losing visibility.
  • Supporting link-building, outreach, and authority-building efforts.
  • Coordinating with writers, designers, and developers to get SEO work shipped.
  • Documenting processes and helping build SOPs and QA checklists the team can reuse.

What Success Looks Like

You will be successful in this role if you:

  • Ramp up quickly on our brands, services, markets, and websites.
  • Consistently ship high-quality briefs, refreshes, and fixes that move priority pages.
  • Contribute to growth in qualified organic leads, not just traffic.
  • Spot problems and opportunities early and bring them forward with a recommendation.
  • Use AI to multiply your output without sacrificing accuracy or quality.
  • Earn more ownership over time, from executing tasks to owning page types, projects, and results.
  • Grow measurably as an SEO strategist over your first year.

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–3 years of experience in SEO, content, digital marketing, or a related analytical role.
  • A working understanding of how search works: keywords, search intent, on-page SEO, internal linking, and indexation. Depth here can be built on the job.
  • Hands-on comfort with AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) and a habit of finding new ways to work faster and smarter.
  • Strong work ethic, ownership, and follow-through. You finish what you start.
  • Curiosity and coachability. You ask good questions, take feedback well, and apply it quickly.
  • Clear writing and communication, including the ability to write a brief someone else can execute.
  • Comfort working with data in spreadsheets and analytics tools.
  • Interest in how SEO drives leads and revenue, not just rankings.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in transportation, logistics, trucking, construction, equipment, home services, legal, finance, or another lead-generation industry.
  • Exposure to programmatic SEO or large location-based websites.
  • Experience writing or editing web content.
  • Familiarity with WordPress, Elementor, or Airtable as a CMS.
  • Basic HTML, schema markup, or comfort working alongside developers.
  • Experience building prompts, AI workflows, or automations for marketing tasks.

Tools You’ll Use

You don’t need to know all of these on day one. You’ll learn them here.

  • Google Search Console and GA4
  • Looker Studio
  • Ahrefs, Semrush, and Profound
  • SEOTesting
  • Screaming Frog or Sitebulb
  • PageSpeed Insights
  • WordPress and Airtable
  • ClickUp
  • AI assistants and AI-powered SEO tools

What We Are Not Looking For

  • Someone who waits to be told exactly what to do.
  • Someone who avoids new tools or resists changing how they work.
  • Someone who treats SEO as a checklist instead of a way to grow the business.
  • Someone who uses AI output without checking it.

We want someone who shows up ready to learn, takes on hard problems, and wants their work to matter.

First 90 Days

In your first 90 days, you will:

  • Learn our brands, services, markets, website portfolio, and SEO history.
  • Get set up in our tools and learn our workflows, reporting, and QA standards.
  • Shadow and support the Senior SEO Lead on audits and roadmap work.
  • Complete keyword research and content briefs for priority page types.
  • Ship your first content refreshes and on-page improvements.
  • Help investigate at least one ranking or traffic decline and present what you found.
  • Build or improve at least one AI-assisted workflow that saves the team time.
  • Take ownership of a defined set of pages, a page type, or a recurring report.
