About the Role
The Senior SEO Manager will increase Coursera’s visibility across search engines, AI-powered search experiences, and emerging discovery platforms. The role combines SEO strategy with hands-on execution and cross-functional work across Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Content.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute organic discovery strategies across web search, AI search, and emerging platforms.
- Own and prioritize a roadmap covering content, technical, and programmatic SEO.
- Partner with SEO Content, Organic Social, and Paid Media to improve discovery based on user intent and business goals.
- Promote SEO best practices across Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Content teams.
- Lead technical SEO initiatives involving indexing, site performance, structured data, crawl optimization, and site architecture.
- Establish reporting for visibility, traffic, engagement, and conversion, then communicate insights to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 7+ years managing in-house SEO programs for large-scale websites, marketplaces, or platforms.
- Experience leading technical SEO initiatives with engineering teams.
- Experience with platforms such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Semrush, Looker, Tableau, or Google Analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and deliver measurable SEO impact.
- Experience optimizing for discovery surfaces beyond web search is preferred.
- Experience with AI-driven search analysis and optimization tools is preferred.
- Experience with large content catalogs or programmatic page generation is preferred.
- Experience with international SEO, localization, SQL, Python, or BI tools is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
- US Zone 3: $138,800-$173,500
