Job Description
The Search & AI Discovery team is looking for a highly technical SEO leader to oversee technical SEO across ParamountPlus.com and Pluto.TV, including domestic and international web properties. This role will work closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Analytics, QA, and other cross-functional teams to ensure SEO requirements are integrated into product roadmaps, engineering workflows, release processes, and site operations.
This is a highly technical SEO role with a strong engineering focus. The ideal candidate is comfortable solving complex technical SEO challenges, translating SEO requirements into engineering documentation and tickets, managing implementation details, and communicating effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Oversee technical SEO for ParamountPlus.com and Pluto.TV across domestic and international web properties
- Partner with Product and Engineering to integrate SEO and AI Discovery requirements into roadmaps, feature development, platform migrations, releases, and web engineering initiatives
- Translate SEO requirements into requirement documents, Jira tickets, Confluence pages, technical specifications, QA checklists, and implementation guidance
- Serve as the technical SEO point of contact for Product, frontend engineering, and backend engineering teams on crawlability, rendering, and indexing
- Own weekly crawl monitoring, technical SEO auditing, and issue triage using Botify, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, analytics platforms, server logs, and crawl data
- Monitor site releases and production updates to identify SEO risks, support release QA, validate requirements, and coordinate fixes
- Analyze data to identify technical issues, performance risks, and growth opportunities
- Support international SEO initiatives, including hreflang, localization, regional site architecture, and scalable multi-market implementation
- Provide guidance on JavaScript SEO, rendering behavior, client-side versus server-side considerations, hydration, and modern JavaScript frameworks
- Ensure key pages are accessible and optimized for search engines, LLM crawlers, AI search bots, AI agents, and other critical fetcher systems
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal, Privacy, and Security teams on crawler and SERP listing governance
- Stay current on SEO, web technology, AI search, LLM crawlers, agentic browsing, and generative answer engine developments
Requirements
- 5 to 8+ years of SEO experience with a strong focus on technical SEO
- Hands-on experience managing technical SEO for large-scale websites, enterprise platforms, or multi-market and international environments
- Strong understanding of crawlability, rendering, indexing, JavaScript SEO, canonicalization, redirects, metadata, internal linking, structured data, XML sitemaps, pagination, site performance, and site architecture
- Strong understanding of how search engines crawl, render, and index JavaScript-based websites
- Experience working directly with Product and Engineering teams in agile development environments
- Ability to write clear product requirements, technical SEO specifications, Jira tickets, Confluence documentation, QA plans, and implementation guidance
- Strong understanding of international SEO, including hreflang, regional URL structures, localization, and global site management
- Experience with SEO tools such as Botify, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Semrush, Ahrefs, or similar platforms
- Experience analyzing crawl data, server logs, bot user agents, search performance data, indexation signals, and technical SEO outputs
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical SEO concepts to business stakeholders, product managers, and engineers
- Experience supporting release QA, site audits, regression testing, monitoring workflows, and technical issue escalation
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and technical workstreams
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and large datasets
Qualifications
- 5 to 8+ years of SEO experience with a strong technical SEO focus
- Experience with large-scale, complex websites is strongly preferred
- Experience partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and QA
- Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate technical SEO concepts into actionable requirements and business impact
- Ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on tactical execution
- Strong interest in technical SEO, web technology, AI discovery, and the evolving search landscape
Pay Range
- $85.00 – $90.00/hr.
