Job Summary
Bytomiq is a growing organic search agency working across technical SEO, content strategy, AEO/GEO, analytics, and large-scale organic growth.
We're looking for a strong Senior SEO Analyst who can do much more than run an audit and export a spreadsheet.
This person will work directly with our strategy team to investigate complex organic-search problems, analyze large datasets and websites, uncover opportunities, build actionable recommendations, and help turn strategy into execution.
We work with companies ranging from growing mid-market brands to large enterprise websites, so we're looking for someone who is genuinely comfortable digging into technical complexity.
What You'll Work On
You'll support projects including:
- Technical SEO audits and investigations
- Large-scale website crawling and analysis
- Indexation and crawlability analysis
- Internal linking audits and strategy
- Site architecture and taxonomy analysis
- Redirect, canonical and duplication analysis
- XML sitemap audits and optimization
- Content and keyword opportunity research
- Competitive organic-search analysis
- Cannibalization investigations
- Google Search Console and GA4 analysis
- Organic traffic and ranking performance analysis
- SEO QA before and after implementations
- AEO/GEO and AI-search visibility research
- Preparing findings and deliverables for strategists and clients
You may also help us improve internal automation and processes as Bytomiq continues building its own SEO technology and reporting infrastructure.
You Should Be Very Comfortable With
Screaming Frog
Not just clicking Crawl.
We want someone who understands custom extraction, regex, crawl configuration, segmentation, JavaScript rendering when appropriate, custom search, integrations and how to manipulate crawl data to answer a specific SEO question.
Google Search Console
You should be comfortable diagnosing performance changes, page/query relationships, indexation issues, cannibalization, brand vs. non-brand performance, and opportunities using GSC data.
GA4
You should understand traffic, landing-page performance, conversions and how SEO activity connects to business outcomes.
Ahrefs and/or Semrush
Competitive analysis, keyword research, content gaps, backlink analysis, historical visibility, SERP research and opportunity sizing should be familiar territory.
Technical SEO
You should be able to confidently investigate:
- Crawling and indexing
- Canonicalization
- Redirects and status codes
- Robots directives
- XML sitemaps
- Pagination
- JavaScript SEO
- Internal linking
- Duplicate and near-duplicate content
- Site architecture
- Structured data
- Core Web Vitals
- Rendering
- Large-site/index-bloat problems
Bonus Skills
These aren't mandatory, but they will get our attention:
- Python
- SQL
- Regex
- Looker Studio
- BigQuery
- HTML/CSS/JavaScript knowledge
- WordPress
- Shopify
- Cloudflare
- Git/GitHub
- API integrations
- Experience automating SEO analysis
- Enterprise/ecommerce SEO experience
- Experience with AEO/GEO, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini or other AI-search ecosystems
What We're NOT Looking For
We're not looking for someone whose SEO experience consists primarily of:
- writing title tags
- ordering backlinks
- generating AI articles
- running automated audits
- copying recommendations out of Semrush
- blindly following an SEO checklist
Tools identify signals.
We need someone who can investigate why something is happening and determine what should actually be done about it.
How You'll Work
You'll collaborate closely with Bytomiq's strategy leadership.
In most situations you'll receive a business problem or strategic question rather than a rigid checklist.
For example:
Organic traffic to an ecommerce category has declined despite rankings appearing relatively stable. Investigate what changed and come back with the most likely causes, supporting evidence and recommended next steps.
We want someone who gets excited about solving that kind of problem.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first few months, you should be able to independently:
- crawl and investigate large websites
- identify technically meaningful issues
- turn raw SEO data into insights
- prioritize findings by potential business impact
- create clean client-ready supporting analysis
- QA recommendations and implementations
- communicate when you disagree with an assumption or believe additional investigation is necessary
You don't need to know everything.
You do need to be curious enough to figure things out.
Who You'll Work With
Bytomiq operates as an extension of our clients' internal teams rather than a lightweight audit vendor.
You'll work alongside senior SEO strategists and have the opportunity to contribute to sophisticated organic-growth engagements across technical SEO, content, AI search and analytics.
We're a small team, which means strong performers will have substantial visibility and the opportunity to grow with the company.
Please don't send a generic AI-generated cover letter.
We care much more about how you think than how polished your resume looks.
Pay: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour
Application Question(s):
- A short introduction and overview of your SEO experience.
- What SEO tools do you use most often?
- Provide an example of a technically difficult SEO problem you personally investigated and how you approached it.
- What is your experience using Screaming Frog beyond basic crawling?
Experience:
- SEO: 3 years (Required)
Work Location: Remote
