Digital Project Manager

Geear is on the hunt for a talented and driven individual with a passion for project management and digital marketing.

About the Job

Geear, a HubSpot Diamond Partner and voted one of the Best Places to Work in Virginia, is growing, and we want you to be a part of it! We’re currently seeking a Digital Project Manager to support our growth by acting as the central hub that connects clients, creatives, and technical teams, so we can deliver quality work to our clients on time and in budget. If you’re passionate about project management, excited about how AI and agents are changing the way teams work, and seeking an environment that values work-life balance (100% remote and a 4-day workweek!), we’d love to hear from you!

***Note: Geear is currently operating 100% virtually and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future***

What You’ll Do

• Own the health of our Kanban board across your assigned client accounts, keeping a daily eye out for stalled, misrouted, or aging work before it impacts delivery

• Spot repetitive operational work that AI tools or agents could handle or speed up, then help prototype, test, and roll out those workflows across the team

• Facilitate weekly prioritization meetings and other team agile ceremonies that help the team commit to a clear, realistic plan for the week

• Communicate priority changes quickly and clearly to Client Success Managers and production teams

• Hold the team accountable to committed work and surface patterns that get in the way of getting it done

• Make sure production receives clean, actionable work by upholding our intake standards

• Serve as an early warning system for delivery and client risk, flagging at-risk situations and helping fix root causes, not just symptoms

• Work with stakeholders to ideate, define, and document internal processes

• Grow into full ownership of project delivery, including building project plans, managing client communication on revisions and approvals, and escalating delivery risks

Who You Are

• You’re a problem solver. You’re not ruffled by change, and you enjoy solving challenges and learning new things

• You’re a friction detective. You notice where work gets stuck, and you can’t leave a broken process alone

• You’re excited about AI. You already use AI tools in your own work, and you get energized by figuring out where they can take busywork off a team’s plate

• You’re a pragmatic experimenter. You’d rather pilot something small, see how it works, and improve it than wait for a perfect solution, and you’re honest when a tool isn’t worth it

• You’re a good communicator. You’re able to simplify communications about complex work and provide clarity to internal stakeholders

• You’re involved. You like to work collaboratively with several team members and play an integral role in making sure high-quality client work is getting done on time and on budget

• You’re a helper. You get satisfaction from helping others and facilitating work being done to help them reach their goals

• You’re cool under pressure, highly organized, responsive, dynamic, and diplomatic

• You’re able to zoom in and out with ease. You pay attention to the details while also keeping the big picture in mind. Who You’ll Work With

Setting You Up for Success

As an employee-first organization, we want to make sure our team members are set up for success. When you win, everyone wins. Therefore, we are proud to offer the following benefits:

• 4-day workweek. We follow the 100/80/100 four-day workweek model, meaning employees are not expected to be at their desk all day Friday if their work is completed for the week

• Fully remote office. We don’t think you need to be in an office every day to do great work. If you prefer an occasional change of scenery outside the office, we will cover some or all of the cost of a co-working membership

• Group health, dental, vision and life insurance plans at a competitive cost

• 401k savings plan with employer match helps you save some for later

• Student loan assistance plan that makes monthly contributions directly to your student loan principal (at no cost to you)

• $2000 home office and computer allowance to make your home work setup perfect for you

• $500 annual education stipend

• Unlimited paid time off

• A clear track for career growth, increased responsibilities, and increased compensation

• Travel at least 2x annually for our in-person retreats (currently located in Richmond, VA)

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience with project management or task management in a fast-paced, high volume environment

• Experience running Kanban or agile workflows and facilitating team meetings

• Experience with project management and knowledge base platforms (Teamwork, HubSpot knowledge is a plus)

• Hands-on experience using AI tools (like Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini) to improve your own or your team’s workflows. Experience building automations or agent-based workflows is a plus

• Proficient in Google Workspace tools, particularly Google Sheets

• Experience juggling competing priorities with passionate stakeholders

• Self-starter with an attention to detail and drive to produce consistent and quality work

• Superior written and verbal communications skills, coupled with highly developed interpersonal skills

• High emotional intelligence

• Highly organized with excellent time management skills
