ISG (Infinity Sales Group)
About the role
CompareInternet.com is a growing ISP comparison platform, and our organic rankings have been climbing steadily. We’re strong on technical and on-page SEO and we publish content consistently. Where we want to grow is off-page. We’re looking for someone to take ownership of that side of the business and build a real digital PR program.
This is not a generic link-building role, and we’re not looking for someone to buy guest posts or niche edits. We want someone who can build digital PR on top of an asset most comparison sites don’t have: proprietary internet coverage, pricing, and speed data down to the ZIP and state level. Internet-desert maps, broadband access rankings by state, how internet prices have shifted over time. These are the kinds of data stories journalists actually want to cite, and we’re sitting on the raw material to produce them.
You won’t be building these assets alone. We have developers, designers, and content writers in-house. Your job is to find the stories in our data, turn them into assets the team can build, and get them placed.
What you’ll do
- Own our off-page and digital PR strategy from start to finish, from the first idea through placement and reporting.
- Dig through our proprietary ISP coverage, pricing, and speed data to find angles that journalists, bloggers, and industry publications want to cite.
- Write the briefs that turn those angles into linkable assets like data studies, interactive tools, maps, and original research, then work with our dev and design teams to ship them.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and publishers across tech, telecom, consumer finance, and local news.
- Run outreach campaigns, pitch press, and keep close track of what lands and what doesn’t.
- Audit and protect our existing backlink profile, including ongoing disavow work.
- Report on the numbers that count: referring domain growth, placement quality, and the strength of our overall link profile over time.
- Help us move away from paying monthly for a handful of links and toward owned assets that keep earning links on their own.
What you’ll need
- Three or more years in digital PR, data-driven link acquisition, or earned media, with a portfolio of placements you can point to. We want to see coverage, not a list of guest-post domains.
- A track record of turning data into a story a journalist will run. If you’ve pitched a data study and gotten coverage from it, that’s exactly what we’re looking for.
- Real outreach experience and existing media relationships, ideally in tech, telecom, or consumer and local verticals.
- Comfort with the modern off-page toolset. We use Ahrefs heavily, plus the usual outreach and prospecting tools.
- The judgment to tell a genuinely valuable link from a spammy one, and to protect a link profile rather than just grow it.
- Strong writing. You’ll be drafting pitches and asset briefs all the time.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with the ISP, broadband, or telecom space.
- Comfort working alongside developers and designers, and the ability to spec what you need clearly so they can build it.
- Some hands-on data ability (SQL, spreadsheets, basic analysis) so you can sanity-check an angle before briefing it out.
- Experience standing up a digital PR function from scratch instead of inheriting one.
Why this role is different
A lot of comparison sites are stuck paying for links that never really build on each other. We’d rather earn editorial coverage we own, and we already have the proprietary data and the engineering team to make the assets. What’s missing is the person who can see the stories in the data and get them placed. If that’s the kind of work you want to own, we’d like to hear from you.
