Our client, a company in the mental health space, is looking for an SEO Director to own strategy, shipping, and outcomes for their growth function. This is a senior, hands-on role focused on driving meaningful business outcomes — not just rankings — through strategic thinking, deep data analysis, programmatic SEO, and shipped execution.
They're looking for a 10x growth operator who's shipped real outcomes at growing, high-bar startups, is AI-native, mission-aligned, and comfortable working directly with founders and executives. You originate ideas, build the case, ship the work, and drive them through to measurable outcome — without waiting to be directed.
What You'll Do
- Own growth projects end-to-end — discovery, strategy, execution, measurement, and iteration
- Ship in production, not just audit or advise — you drive changes live and prove impact
- Serve as the primary strategic partner to leadership, presenting insights and growth opportunities with confidence
- Lead high-impact technical and programmatic SEO initiatives — URL migrations, taxonomy rebuilds, canonical and indexation changes at scale
- Build programmatic content features (self-discovery tools, screeners, quizzes) that drive acquisition
- Translate SEO, product, and performance data into clear, actionable insights
- Use Claude and build agentic workflows to improve execution velocity and scale your impact
- Build forecasts, set targets, and deliver clear, data-driven reporting on a regular cadence
What They're Looking For
- 6+ years in SEO, growth, or performance marketing
- Has shipped growth outcomes at a growing, high-bar startup — Series A-C or comparable environment where you originated and drove work live, not just technical hygiene or internal tooling at a large org
- Has originated and driven at least one major growth initiative end-to-end to a measurable business outcome (revenue, pipeline, or traffic at scale)
- Demonstrated programmatic SEO wins at scale — migrations, taxonomy work, template-level canonical/noindex changes, traffic lift from technical execution
- AI-native with Claude integrated into daily work — has built automated processes, pipelines, or agentic workflows (not occasional prompting)
- Strong ownership mentality — operates autonomously, consistent and reliable in execution
- Professional, buttoned-up communicator — prepared, clear, and low-drama in client interactions
- Comfortable working directly with founders, CEOs, and senior leadership
- Remote-ready with meaningful overlap with the Pacific Time Zone
