We are seeking an experienced, strategic and client-focused Principal SEO Advisor to join our fully remote team. This role is ideal for a seasoned SEO professional (7-10+ years of experience) who is initiative-taking, analytically driven, and deeply committed to exceeding client expectations. As the primary client lead, you will have the opportunity to shape impactful SEO and AI Search strategies and mentor rising talent within the firm. The ideal candidate will have experience with modern SEO tools, a keen understanding of technical SEO and advanced content strategies, and a confident, collaborative approach to client relationships.
This role requires a balance of technical expertise, creative problem-solving, great communication and leadership. You will collaborate closely with clients and team members to design, implement, and manage strategies that drive measurable success. Independence, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, client-focused environment are essential for success in this position.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop High-Level Strategies: Craft, implement, and refine comprehensive SEO and AI Search strategies that align with client goals, driving measurable growth and impact.
- Lead Client Consultations: Function as a lead advisor to clients, managing relationships, conducting in-depth needs assessments, and presenting actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Oversee Content Strategy Development: Evaluate, create, and guide content strategies to enhance client positioning, engagement, and organic reach.
- Implement SEO Best Practices: Advise on current industry standards and emerging trends in SEO and AI Search while helping clients remain competitive through advanced techniques and tools.
- Drive Technical SEO Initiatives: Identify and address technical SEO opportunities related to site architecture, indexing, site performance and related areas.
- Monitor and Report on Client Performance: Analyze and report on SEO, content and business-driven outcomes and key performance metrics, making adjustments to optimize effectiveness.
- Manage Project Timelines and Deliverables: Ensure client engagements remain on track and deliverables exceed expectations, balancing high-quality output with timely execution.
- Mentor and Guide Team Members: Lead by example and proactively communicate to guide and develop junior team members, fostering skill growth and a collaborative team dynamic.
You’re Probably a Match If You Have:
- 7-10+ years of SEO and content marketing experience, with demonstrated success in agency, consultancy and/or client-side leadership roles working with complex brands.
- Advanced proficiency with tools like SEMRush, Ahrefs, SEO Clarity, Conductor, Profound, PeecAI, Scrunch, etc. and experience with Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics.
- Strong familiarity with generative AI platforms including ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude.
- Deep expertise in SEO-driven content strategy and/or Technical SEO.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, comfort in frequent senior client interactions and a team-oriented mindset.
- Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
- Ability to work independently and as a self-starter in a fully remote environment.
