About the role
The primary role of the SEO Specialist is to analyze and execute search engine optimization campaigns for a small portfolio of client websites. This must be done within a defined scope, time, and cost based on the requirements and constraints of specific campaigns. The SEO Specialist works closely with the Marketing Analyst, Digital Strategist, Digital Marketing Specialist (DMS) and also the Digital Marketing Manager (DMM) to consistently improve client ROI. While the primary focus of the role is on complete SEO-based work, conversion rate optimization (CRO) is also a part of the role. Although this is primarily a technical role, you will be required to attend all internal meetings and the occasional video call with clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive SEO strategies based on thorough campaign analysis and competitive research.
- Conduct in-depth technical SEO audits and implement recommendations to improve site performance.
- Collaborate with the web development team to ensure the SEO implementations are made.
- Collaborate effectively with the editorial team in content creation processes.
- Developing and implementing comprehensive SEO roadmaps that lead to organic traffic growth of the law firms.
- Create and optimize Schema Markup for legal websites to enhance search visibility.
- Perform detailed content audits and provide data-driven content optimization recommendations.
- Create monthly content briefs and guidelines for legal content creation.
- Execute on-page optimization strategies across client websites.
- Analyze off-site opportunities and create strategic recommendations for our outreach team.
- Implementation of E-E-A-T optimization strategies specific to legal content.
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance using various analytics tools (E.g., Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Semrush, and Ahrefs)
- Identify trends and opportunities in the legal search landscape.
- Provide regular performance reports and strategic recommendations for clients.
- Understanding and making sense of the law firm’s practice areas and goals.
- Stay current with SEO best practices and algorithm updates.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of SEO experience, with demonstrated success in the legal industry.
- Proven track record of improving organic search visibility and traffic for law firm websites.
- Expert knowledge of technical SEO, including site architecture, crawlability, indexability, and mobile-first optimization.
- Strong understanding of Schema Markup and structured data implementation.
- Experience with SEO tools (e.g., Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, and AlsoAsked).
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting data from Google Analytics and other analytics platforms.
- Understanding of content optimization for legal topics and user intent.
- Experience in conducting competitor analysis and identifying market opportunities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent project management and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of legal industry terminology and marketing regulations
- Experience with legal industry compliance requirements a plus
- Knowledge of implementing location-specific landing pages for multi-location law firms.
- Understanding of legal user journey and conversion optimization
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing multiple concurrent SEO campaigns for professional service businesses.
- Familiarity with different practice areas of law and their unique marketing challenges.
- Knowledge of local SEO strategies for law firms
- Experience with legal directory optimization (Avvo, Findlaw, Martindale, Nolo)
- Background in legal marketing or law firm operations
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and JS or Python is a plus.
- Understanding of web development principles and WordPress.
- Great English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Knowing and following John Mueller from Google is a plus.
- You have an always-learning hunger.
