We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced freelace SEO Advisor / Expert to help us build and implement a robust, scalable organic search program. This is a project-based role ideal for an professional who thrives on strategic development and empowering teams through knowledge transfer.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct a comprehensive audit of our current organic search presence (branded and unbranded queries) to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and document a clear organic search strategy, including in-depth keyword research, topic clustering, and search intent mapping aligned with our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and product focus.
- Collaborate with our content marketing team to inform and influence the content calendar, providing guidance on content creation, structuring, and impact measurement.
- Advise on AI search readiness (e.g., AI Overviews, Google SGE, ChatGPT) and lead experimentation to optimize our visibility in these emerging environments.
- Create intuitive internal documentation and/or dashboards to enable our team to independently manage and monitor SEO performance going forward.
- Provide ongoing async support and consultation to our content, growth, and web teams as needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven expertise in traditional SEO methodologies and best practices.
- Expert in current SEO and AI search trends.
- Demonstrable experience optimizing for AI visibility (AI Overviews, ChatGPT, etc.).
- Proficiency with SEMRush, Google Search Console (GSC), and Google Analytics (GA).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and drive projects from conception to completion.
- Experience with newer SEO tools like Search Atlas a plus.
