The Senior SEO Strategist will be responsible for the success of SEO campaigns for our clients. They will develop and implement search engine optimization (SEO) strategies and tactics for numerous clients across different industries. They will ensure that deliverables and work are completed on time to high-quality standards without the need for revision. This includes a focus on content, technical SEO, link building, local optimization, conversion rate optimization and more. This person will know how to communicate the value of their work to stakeholders, get their projects approved, and collaborate with team members to implement their recommendations. Most importantly, this person will have knowledge of industry best practices, a strong point of view on what works and what doesn’t, and the ability to execute an overarching strategy.

Job Location:

• Must be local to the Charlotte-metro area or willing to relocate to the Charlotte-metro area.
• This will be an in-person role at our Charlotte office at least 3-4 times per week.

Responsibilities:

• Develop SEO-related strategies that are aligned with achieving client business goals
• Create, manage and continually optimize SEO campaigns across multiple clients
• Manage local optimization and online reputation management
• Manage conversion rate optimization efforts on websites
• Perform in-depth keyword research for clients to identify opportunities for optimization
• Manage on-page optimizations: meta descriptions, page titles, internal linking, and more
• Monitor and track data for organic SEO traffic and clients’ goals
• Develop link building and outreach/public relation strategies for clients
• Identify schema markup opportunities to enhance search engine visibility and rich snippets
• Work with Web Dev team to fix crawl errors, core web vitals and other technical SEO needs
• Work with Content Marketing team to develop and promote impactful SEO content
• Stay on top of search trends and algorithm updates that might impact site performance
• Prioritize impactful tasks based on SEO budgets and allocate resources effectively
• Educate colleagues and clients on SEO best practices, expectations, and value of SEO efforts
• Effectively communicate SEO data, strategies, wins, and challenges with Account Managers
• As agency grows, manage in-house SEO team and SEO contractors

Qualifications:

• 5+ years relevant SEO experience with proven track record of impactful campaigns
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field is preferred
• Experience using Google Analytics 4, Search Console, Ahrefs, Moz and other SEO tools
• Experience working with AI tools for production efficiency and SEO impact
• Experience working within WordPress is highly preferred
• Knowledge of local, technical and content-based SEO best practices
• High level of analytical and critical thinking skills as well as creative problem skills
• Working knowledge of PPC, social media, email marketing and web development is a big plus
