The Lifetime Value Co. is looking for an SEO Analyst. As an SEO Analyst, your primary role involves leveraging both SEO techniques and Python programming skills to enhance the online presence and visibility of our content in search engines. You will be deeply involved in conducting thorough market and competitor research, analyzing trends, and developing keyword strategies to improve audience engagement and reach. This role demands a combination of technical SEO knowledge, content optimization, and programming skills to automate and optimize various SEO tasks.

The ideal candidate will have a natural curiosity and a knack for analytical follow-through; you can’t help but ask “why?” and have the ability to use data and logic to explore potential solutions and make strategic decisions. Your passion for data and digital marketing drives you to teach and evangelize a data-informed approach to product development across the team.

What You Will Get to Do
SEO Strategy and Implementation:

  • Perform keyword research to identify high-value search terms.
  • Propose content improvements based on competitive analyses and keyword gaps.
  • Implement on-page SEO strategies, including content, meta tag, and heading optimizations.
  • Conduct technical SEO audits to resolve website issues impacting search engine rankings.
  • Build a content engine leveraging AI and first party data that scales content production across all stages of the buyers’ journey, aiming to increase both traffic and engagement.
  • Conduct and interpret A/B and multivariate tests, leveraging SQL, Looker, Tableau and other data tools.

Website and Content Analysis:

  • Analyze content performance across multiple platforms.
  • Use analytical tools like Google Analytics and Google Search Console to monitor website traffic and user behavior.
  • Report on SEO KPIs, comparing them with set goals and benchmarks.
  • Propose actionable insights to improve content discoverability and readership.
  • Analyze server crawl log performance and make recommendations to improve site structure and indexation.
  • Utilize SEO tools such as SEMRush, Ahrefs, SimilarWeb to do competitive and industry analysis and provide recommendations for ways to improve our keyword reach.
  • Leverage internal and third-party data to identify and expose content gaps, shape and direct the strategies for content creation.

Python Automation in SEO:

  • Utilize Python scripts to automate tasks such as keyword research, internal link analysis, and image optimization.
  • Employ Python for web scraping and data analysis relevant to SEO.
  • Experience in BeautifulSoup, Scrapy or Selenium.
  • Integrate with SEO tools like Google’s Indexing API and URL Inspection API.
  • Apply machine learning techniques for advanced SEO analytics and forecasting.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with content creators, web developers, and marketing teams to align SEO strategies with business goals.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders about SEO strategies and outcomes.
  • Stay updated with SEO trends and share knowledge with the team.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including but not limited to project plans, status reports and timelines.
  • Ensure our technology, analysis, and content practices comply with data privacy regulations.

Technical and Analytical Skills:

  • Strong command over technical SEO aspects including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with BiqQuery / Google Cloud / APIs
  • Proficient in using SEO and analytical tools, especially with a focus on Python applications in SEO.
  • Continuous learning and application of new techniques in SEO and Python programming.
  • Proficiency/mastery of Screaming Frog’s various uses, including extracting insight from its API connections.
  • Create, build and automate data tools and dashboards that enable real-time performance monitoring in a scalable, self-service manner.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Information Technology, Business Technology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as an SEO Analyst or a similar digital marketing role with a track record of driving results and optimizing performance.
  • Strong understanding of ranking factors, search engine algorithms, and SEO best practices.
  • Experience in statistical testing (various A/B testing strategies) and design of experiments.
  • Proficiency in Python, with experience in automating SEO tasks.
  • Familiarity with writing, using and optimizing SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities with a bias towards action. You build strong connections within your team and across the company.
  • Strong proficiency in English language
  • Experience using project management and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Bonus: 

  • You have experience working with AI to automate content production and optimization.
  • Experience in D3.js or other ways to visualize data
