Instructure is looking to hire an experienced, data-driven, organized B2B SEO Manager to join our team and help lead on developing holistic organic strategies that drive increased brand visibility, visitors to our site, and ultimately more leads for the sales team. This role sits on our Marketing Digital Channels team and will be working closely with social and paid media, CRO, web developers, content marketing, and communications teams. The role’s responsibilities include keyword research and discovery, content strategy recommendations and optimizations, link building and management activities. The SEO Manager will work closely with web and technical teams to prioritize and manage execution of onsite SEO improvements.

On an ongoing basis, this role will use web analytics and SEO tools to measure, analyze, and optimize search marketing efforts and monitor competitive search and keyword trends to identify additional opportunities for growth. The SEO Manager will need to be experienced in SEO tools such as SEMRush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Ahrefs plus Google Analytics to analyze and improve the current state of our organic optimization programs, as well as provide recommendations on opportunities to improve our tech. They will lead all aspects of the SEO program including keyword research, content ideation, link acquisition, local search campaigns, and monitoring of technical SEO issues.

The ideal candidate will have an In-depth understanding and experience creating metadata, experience developing and executing localization strategy and be able to architect/configure Google Analytics, allowing for true data validation and confidence.

This person will partner with internal stakeholders to strategically determine the right balance between SEO, content optimization and UX and will be responsible for executing all on-site optimization tactics, configuration, tracking, iterating, and reporting.

The successful candidate will be both action oriented and data driven, being able to interpret, analyze, and translate complex datasets with concision, empowering our marketing team to operate as efficiently and as effectively as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Work cross-functionally with web development, web production, marketing operations, and CRO teams to ensure our technical ecosystem is built for success throughout our organic channels.
  • Develop, lead, and execute effective SEO strategies and tactics to improve organic web presence in SERP including page structure, code, title tags, keywords, image labels, keyword and link research.
  • Work with Sr Manager, Digital Channels to develop a roadmap and provide recommendations aligned to the company’s objectives and industry standards.
  • Perform regular technical SEO audits and drive technical SEO roadmap, including site structure, schema, taxonomy and overall health and performance.
  • Partner with content marketing to optimize content driving to increased ranking in SERP for targeted keywords. Advise our creative and content teams on best practices for content creation relative to SEO performance. Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for search, monitor SEO rankings, and recommend tactics to optimize further.
  • Regularly report to external stakeholders on SEO KPIs and metrics, as well as providing actionable insights alongside the data.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Instructure’s industry, audience, and personas – and use that knowledge to continually refine keyword strategy.
  • Perform competitor and industry research to determine what optimization strategies should be employed to begin to compete for keywords and traffic.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Paid Media manager to ensure efficiencies across SEO and SEM.
  • Create and execute metadata optimization strategies.
  • Generate and deliver ad hoc reports.

Qualifications:

  • Three (3) or more years experience managing search engine optimization.
  • Experience and expertise in SEO best practices, ranking factors and search engine algorithms including local SEO and mobile.
  • Technical SEO expert who is willing to get into the details, e.g. crawl errors, data issues, schema.
  • Able to lead efforts on attribution modeling for organic traffic to the website.
  • Extensive on-page and off-page SEO skills and experience and up-to-date knowledge of the latest SEO news, trends, and best practices.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute effectively.
  • Able to analyze and visualize data.
  • Highly effective communicator who can translate complex ideas and datasets into concise and meaningful directives for the organization.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical and optimization skills.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel.
  • Technical knowledge of website architecture (experience with HTML Markup, CSS, XML); knowledge of JavaScript development and constraints is a plus.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Tag Manager; experience with enterprise SEO tools (Brightedge, Conductor, etc.) a plus.
  • Experience analyzing data, finding insights and presenting the findings to stakeholdersExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in education and/or marketing to large enterprise accounts is a bonus. Proactive, self-motivated and takes initiative.
  • Outstanding team player and ability to work collaboratively cross-functionally as well as independently in a fast-paced environment.
