We’re looking for a proven SEO Content & PR Executive to create compelling content and deliver PR & outreach campaigns that earn backlinks, increase ranking, and – ultimately – deliver organic traffic.

About the role..

£30,000-£35,000 pa

Start: May/June

Location: London/Hybrid Remote (min. 2 days per week at SE1 6DP)

We’ve grown Encore into the world’s largest online marketplace for booking musicians, and now we’re taking the next step in scaling our organic growth.

You’ll be tasked with two things. First: weekly PR and/or outreach campaigns that secure backlinks from top-tier domains. Second: methodically building out our on-site content to deliver organic search traffic.

Your closest colleague will be our Marketing Growth Lead Dan – but without question you’ll get to know everyone on our 32-person team of passionate, entrepreneurial music lovers. In particular, you’ll be supported by our design, product and customer insights teams as you go about creating high quality content and running link-building campaigns.

In short: you will be instrumental in defining and executing how we grow Encore’s organic traffic. And ultimately, you’ll be responsible for creating thousands of unforgettable musical experiences, helping musicians all across the UK earn a fair income.

This is a full-time hybrid/remote role with at least two days per week (Thursday + one other) in our London office at The Ministry of Sound (SE1 6DP).

About you…

(required)

  • At least 2+ years’ experience in SEO and content marketing teams showing a strong track record of successful link placements and traffic-growing content

  • Responsible for demonstrable improvements in SEO performance through link building and PR activity

  • You love creating high-quality written content which drives SEO traffic, and you have a strong portfolio of past work already out there online

  • You understand your title tags from your meta descriptions, showing strong understanding of SEO as part of the content marketing process

  • You’ve worked with PR requests and understand the benefits and requirements

  • Running email outreach and link-building campaigns is a breeze for you, and you’ve got the portfolio to prove it

  • You’ve always got your eye on the competition using tools like SEMRush and STAT, so you know we’re ahead of the curve and identify emerging trends

  • Using CMS is a breeze for you – strong WordPress / general CMS skills are essential

  • You plan ahead using tools like Monday or ClickUp to provide a roadmap of your strategy

  • Superb written fluency in English is essential

  • You’re passionate for and in tune with the latest content marketing trends

(desirable)

  • Experience running PR campaigns (with clear backlink and word-of-mouth results)

  • Experiencing creating content marketing roadmaps and campaigns, including conceptualising imagery

  • Experience creating video content for YouTube to drive traffic

  • Experience in marketing across different countries

  • Strong interest or background in music

  • Experience in a quickly scaling startup

The interview process..

Our process for this role will follow 4 steps. We aim to avoid all unnecessary red tape and delays in our process and have been told our interviews are relaxed and enjoyable.

  1. “Coffee chat” (up to 30 mins): an informal phone call with Dan to share more information about the role, and check your basic suitability before proceeding.

  2. First interview (up to 1 hour): a mix of general and technical questions, with Dan and another member of the team.

  3. At-Home Task (2-3 hours): ahead of final interview; we know at-home tasks are a big commitment; we haven’t found a better way of ‘testing’ how someone works and thinks.

  4. Final Interview (up to 2 hours): you’ll discuss your at-home challenge with Dan and other senior members of the Encore team, followed by a chance to meet more of our team in a series of rapid-fire chats. (We consistently receive feedback about how fun this part is!).

By the end, you’ll have met most of your future close colleagues. Our aim is that both you and us will feel fully equipped to make a decision.

About Encore..

We’re making it easier than ever to book incredible musicians for private and corporate events, concerts and recording sessions.

Demand for our musicians is growing rapidly, and for a simple reason: agencies and old-fashioned directories are opaque and time-consuming. The modern customer expects a fast, simple and transparent platform like Encore.

Our marketplace is home to 25,000+ musicians and 15,000+ bands and ensembles, giving us the largest supply of performing musicians in the UK. A platform like Encore has never been built before, and we’re incredibly proud of the diverse selection of musicians who have joined our community so far.

Examples of recent bookings:

  • Monthly entertainment for the Google Entrepreneurs community

  • Cellist to perform with Biffy Clyro at the Roundhouse in London

  • Cover Bands for the Guinness Tent at the RBS Six Nations Championship

  • String Duo for the Game of Thrones Season launch in Kings Cross Underground Station

We’ve booked thousands of musicians for over 20,000 occasions, and we’re only just getting started.

Our hybrid/remote working policy..

We practice hybrid-remote working. We can mostly do our jobs remotely, but building a strong culture on a foundation of deep trust is best done in person. We have our own office at the legendary Ministry of Sound in London, which the team can use 5 days per week.

We have two in-person requirements:

  1. that everyone in the company comes in to work in the office every Thursday plus 1 other day each week at a minimum, and

  2. new joiners join us in the office for 3 days per week during their first month at the company to accelerate the process of onboarding and getting to know colleagues.

For these reasons, we prefer to hire people based within traveling distance of London, and at the moment, we only hire people based in the UK. 🇬🇧

What our team says..

“I love that everyone in the team is creative and has a great sense of ownership – and of course the way Encore empowers/enables that to be the case. Every single one of us, regardless of how long we’ve worked here, has left a ‘stamp’ of ourselves..”

“There’s a culture of trust, autonomy and collaboration that allows each one of us to have…full ownership of our roles and take initiative.”

“It’s possible for anyone to suggest an idea for the product and it will always be seriously discussed and considered. It’s easy to take for granted how rare that is. Seeing…a suggestion that will improve the lives of…musicians discussed, developed, built and launched is really fulfilling.”

“Everyone on the team being musical or into music is a big plus!”

“Tight-knit, musical team, regular socials, remote working and flexible hours, and a forward-thinking, agile environment.”

“I am eternally appreciative of being afforded the respect and flexibility to have a work setup that suits me, work from home when I want to, and be able to book into offices when it suits 🙏”
