About Everway

Every mind is unique. Yet much of the world is still built for what’s considered "normal," leaving too many people behind. At Everway, we change that by creating technology that helps everyone understand and be understood. By understanding and addressing the unique needs of each individual, we're creating a world where differences are recognised and valued.

How we work fits real life. When you partner with us, you’re not just taking on a contract—you’re contributing to a movement to build a more neuroinclusive world. You’ll collaborate alongside a global community spanning the UK, Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand. Working with Everway is purposeful, collaborative, and fast-moving, with clear project expectations, modern tools, and the autonomy to focus on what matters most.

Everyone we work with—including our network of freelance specialists—is supported to show up as they are, with different ways of thinking welcomed and valued. Our work is driven by our core values: be curious, have courage, and commit fully.

Partner with Everway — together, we can unlock the full potential of every mind.

### Role Details

- Commitment: 2–3 Days / Week (Remote, UK-based)
- Primary Focus: Execution, On-Page Optimisation, Technical Briefing
- Long-Term Opportunity: Potential to take over strategy as we transition away from our external agency.

### Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Freelance SEO Specialist to drive day-to-day SEO execution. Currently, we partner with an external SEO agency for high-level strategy, but we need an embedded specialist to execute recommendations, fix issues, and improve our existing content footprint.

For the right candidate, there is a clear path to take over overall strategy and roadmap planning as we phase out our agency relationship.

### Key Responsibilities

- SEO & GEO Opportunity Identification: Identify traditional SEO and GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) opportunities using search data, competitor insight, content performance, and emerging AI search trends.
- Execution & Delivery: Turn strategic recommendations into clear, prioritised actions and follow them through to implementation and completion.
- Content Optimisation: Audit and improve existing content, including metadata, headings, copy, internal linking, structured data, and search intent alignment.
- Content Briefing: Produce detailed, search- and GEO-informed briefs for our internal content team.
- Technical SEO (Ad-hoc): Identify technical issues as they arise, write clear developer requirements, and QA fixes once deployed. (Note: You will not be pushing code. Instead, you will collaborate with our web developers to log tickets, spec out requirements, and test updates).
- Site & Content Structure: Recommend improvements for site architecture, international SEO, indexation, and Core Web Vitals.
- Performance Monitoring: Track keyword visibility, organic traffic, AI search presence, technical health, and page-level performance using SEMrush, Google Search Console, and GA4.
- Link Acquisition: Identify backlink and unlinked brand mention opportunities to drive off-page authority.

### Tech Stack & Tools

- CMS: Prismic (experience with a headless CMS is a plus; training will be provided)
- Analytics & Search Tools: Google Search Console, GA4, SEMrush

### Working Cadence & Output

We expect the specialist to take ownership of their roadmap and work in a flexible sprint rhythm—maintaining a prioritised backlog of jobs to be done to deliver a steady flow of content briefs and page refreshes for the writing team, alongside ad-hoc technical SEO specifications for the dev team.

**Typical Monthly Benchmarks:**

- 12–20 pages audited and on-page optimised
- 4–8 content briefs created for the writing team
- Weekly GSC/SEMrush health checks and traffic monitoring
- Ad-hoc technical tickets written and QA’d with developers as needed

### Requirements & Experience

- Track Record: Strong background in hands-on SEO execution (on-page optimisation, site architecture, and basic technical audits) delivered at a global scale.
- High Autonomy & Ownership: Ability to work independently and confidently using your own initiative. You take full ownership of your workload, proactively manage priorities, and clearly communicate and report on the value and impact of your work to key stakeholders.
- Tool & Data Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in GA4, Google Search Console, and SEMrush—you must be able to analyse keyword performance, track page-level traffic, identify drops/gains, and prove consistent organic growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven experience generating detailed content briefs and liaising directly with copywriters and developers to drive execution.
- Modern Search Awareness: Strong understanding of GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) and evolving AI search environments.
- Nice to Have: Ability to develop and lead a comprehensive SEO strategy independently in the future.
