**CLIENT SUCCESS MANAGER | SEO + GOOGLE ADS**

Company: Sustain Media

Compensation:

$90,000-$105,000+ OTE |

$75,000 base + uncapped client retention share

Employment: Full-time W-2

Location: Remote | Must be US-based

**ABOUT SUSTAIN MEDIA**

Sustain Media runs local SEO and Google Ads for home service businesses: plumbers, HVAC companies, electricians, roofers, restoration companies, auto shops, and other local service businesses.

We work with companies ranging from growing owner-operated businesses to $50M+ home service businesses with large teams, serious marketing budgets, and aggressive growth goals.

Everything is month to month. Clients own everything we build.

We’re growing quickly, but we have no interest in becoming the kind of agency where a business gets passed between an account manager, an SEO person they’ve never met, and a support inbox nobody owns.

That’s why we’re hiring this role.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Most agency account managers are stuck in the middle.

A client asks a question. They ask the SEO team. The SEO team sends back an answer. The account manager packages it up and forwards it along.

That is not this job.

We’re hiring someone who can sit across from the owner of a $15M HVAC company, understand what they’re trying to accomplish, understand the SEO and Google Ads strategy we’re running, and lead that relationship with confidence.

You will be the person our clients know and trust.

You’ll lead calls, record reporting videos, handle day-to-day communication, understand what each business is trying to grow, catch problems early, and make sure clients never have to wonder what we’re doing.

You won’t spend your days building backlinks, writing location pages, or adjusting bids. We have strong specialists and systems behind you.

Your job is to know the business and the strategy cold, communicate it clearly, and own the client experience.

**WHAT YOU OWN**

• The relationship: You are the primary point of contact across calls, email, Slack, reporting videos, and ongoing communication.

• The business context: You know which services they want more of, which markets matter, their lead flow, seasonality, goals, frustrations, and what a win actually looks like.

• Reporting: You turn rankings, calls, forms, Google Ads data, completed work, and upcoming priorities into something a business owner can actually understand.

• Client calls: You explain what happened, what matters, where we need to improve, and what happens next.

• Proactivity: A client should never need to chase you for an update.

• Retention: If an account is getting frustrated, you catch it early. There should be no preventable surprises.

• Internal representation: You make sure our strategy and delivery team understands what the client needs and that important issues get handled.

• Account growth: When another service genuinely makes sense for a client, you recognize it and are comfortable having that conversation.

**HOW THE TEAM WORKS**

We’ve learned that the person who loves auditing SEO accounts is rarely the same person who loves a day full of client calls, emails, and report videos.

So we stopped pretending they need to be.

Our Head of Strategy & Delivery owns deeper technical direction, QA, priorities, and harder account problems.

Our SEO strategists, Google Ads specialists, developers, and internal AI agent support and execute the work.

AI is built into how we operate. We use it across research, reporting prep, account analysis, QA, implementation, and internal workflows.

We expect the people on our team to be excited about where this is going, not threatened by it.

You own the front end of the relationship. You have serious people and systems behind you on the back end.

**WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE**

• No preventable client surprises

• Clients never reach out asking what we’re up to or what work we’re doing

• Calls, reports, and follow-ups happen when promised

• At-risk accounts are identified while there is still time to fix them

• Clients trust you enough to bring problems to you early

• The delivery team has clear context on what every business actually needs

• Great businesses stay, refer other businesses, and expand with us

**WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR**

You’re probably already working at an SEO, PPC, or digital marketing agency and have realized you’re unusually good at the client side of the business.

You can talk comfortably with a $2M owner and then jump onto a call with the leadership team of a $15M company without changing who you are.

More specifically:

• 3+ years in client success, account management, SEO, paid media, or digital strategy

• Strong understanding of local SEO, Google Business Profiles, the Map Pack, on-page SEO, links, local pages, and basic technical SEO

• Working understanding of Google Ads, CPL, CPA, conversion tracking, attribution, budgets, and lead quality

• Extremely comfortable leading calls and explaining marketing without hiding behind jargon

• Organized enough to manage a busy portfolio without dropping commitments

• Calm and direct when a client is frustrated or the results aren’t where we want them

• Commercial enough to understand that rankings don’t matter if the phone isn’t ringing

• Extremely curious about AI and already experienced using it meaningfully in your work

• Home service experience is a major plus

**THIS IS PROBABLY NOT FOR YOU IF**

• Client calls drain you or a busy inbox stresses you out

• Your version of account management is forwarding messages between the client and fulfillment

• You wait for a client to complain before realizing something is wrong

• You hide behind impressions, traffic, or completed tasks when a client is asking about leads

• You need someone constantly checking whether you followed up

• You aren’t deeply curious about AI or rarely use it in your current work

• You want a slow-moving corporate job with a narrow job description

**COMPENSATION**

$75,000 base salary + uncapped client retention share.

The incentive is simple: the longer the businesses you manage stay with Sustain, the more you make. The retention share grows as accounts mature, so someone who builds a strong, long-retained portfolio benefits directly from it.

Expected OTE: $90,000-$105,000+

If you crush it for clients, retain a strong portfolio, and help grow accounts where it makes sense, there is room to earn beyond that.

• Full-time W-2

• Fully remote

• Unlimited PTO

• Direct access to company leadership

• Real room to grow as Sustain grows

**WHY SUSTAIN**

We’re still small enough that great people change the company.

You won’t disappear inside a 300-person agency or inherit 80 accounts nobody knows anything about.

You’ll work directly with the founder, our Head of Strategy & Delivery, our tech ops team, and the specialists doing the work.

If you want to become extremely good at working with serious home service businesses, own meaningful relationships, and make more money as those relationships get stronger, this is the kind of seat we’re building.

If you’re looking for a remote job you can quietly coast through, don’t apply.

If you want businesses to know your name, trust your judgment, and notice when you’re great at what you do, we should talk.
