Full-time Director of SEO

at Three Ships Media in Raleigh, NC

The Director of SEO will work our clients at Three Ships Media to develop and implement effective search engine optimization strategies for our clients. We’re not looking for someone that knows a little about keywords and links – but someone who lives and breathes search. The Director of SEO will have a strong background in search engine optimization as well as the intellectual firepower to quickly drive business decision-making on the basis of data and analytics. The Director of SEO will lead a team of SEO analysts and maintain a senior presence within our operating committee, working closely with our Directors of Earned Media, Paid Media, and Conversion.

Responsibilities

- Lead the development and execution of client SEO audits, strategy, and implementation plans to achieve our clients’ objectives of acquiring customers online.
- Manage the analysis of SEO performance across key metrics to recommend and execute modifications in both SEO strategy as well as general digital marketing efforts, such as marketing creative and paid media execution.
- Train and lead your team in activities including keyword analysis, competitive analysis website architecture analysis, link building, copy optimization, appropriate meta tagging, and other SEO tactics. (Your project management capabilities will be valued – but everyone is expected to execute at Three Ships Media).
- Rigorously test and monitor results of SEO experiments.
- Report on the results of SEO efforts both internally and to the client by creating and presenting campaign reports, including key performance indicators such as organic and referral traffic, conversion rates, revenue, profit, and ROI.
- Bring a highly quantitative approach to measurement, and experience with collecting and interpreting key performance indicators and web analytics, as well as clear understanding of ROI analysis.

Qualifications

- 4+ years experience in SEO-focused role, preferably in an e-commerce environment.
- Results driven, passionate marketer with the ability to excel in a challenging, fast-paced, and fun environment.
- A proven track record of driving client results in the form of traffic, conversions, and revenue.
- A strategist that isn’t afraid to execute with strong attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of web analytics and optimization.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with others.
- Ability to self-manage and keep track of multiple projects.
